PADI Scuba Diver Minimum age: 10 Duration: 2 dives / 2˝ days

Thinking of getting certified for an upcoming vacation, but don't have the time to put into a regular diver course? Now there's a quick and easy program designed especially for you! This is your chance to slap on some fins, strap on a mask and experience an intense adventure in a short amount of time.

The PADI Scuba Diver program is a pre-entry level certification that is perfect for vacationers or people who only plan to dive a couple times a year. As a subprogram of the PADI Open Water Diver program, the PADI Scuba Diver rating allows you to get certified quickly and easily by minimizing time constraints. With the PADI Scuba Diver certification you can dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher professional on your next vacation or dive trip.

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a Scuba Diver certification.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing pool dives, knowledge development sessions and by making two open water (ocean or lake) dives.

PADI Open Water Diver Minimum age: 10 Duration: 4 dives / 3 days

Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of great adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.

As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.

PADI Open Water Diver Referral Minimum age: 10 Duration: 4 dives / 2 days

You have already started your Open Water class at home but would like to finish it in the warm water of the Caribbean Sea or you would like to get your PADI Open Water certification but don't feel like studying during your vacation?

Dive Safaris has the solution! Start your Open Water class at home and come do your last 4 certification dives with us.

This is possible because all PADI dive centers use the same standards to train their students. After each training modules, your home instructor will sign your student performance sheet and all you will have to do is to bring it with you.

After your arrival in St Maarten, you will be able to complete your certification during your 2 days referral and then keep on diving with us for the rest of your trip.

This is what you will need to bring with you:

  • A copy of our student folder
  • A copy of your medical form
  • A copy of your final exam
  • Your student training records signed by your previous instructor(s)
  • Your PIC card (only if provided by your original instructor

At the successful completion of your 4 dives, we will process your certification card. The cost of the certification card is $25.00 if your original instructor has not provided you with one.

PADI Adventure Diver Minimum age: 15 Duration: 3 dives / 1 day
Have you always wanted to try underwater photography? How about wreck diving? Here's your chance because you can sample three dives of your choice, get a taste of what you like, and feel more comfortable in the water, strengthening your underwater skills and letting you enjoy diving more than ever.

The Adventures in Diving program offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. If you complete any three adventure dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification. If you complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and three Adventure Dives for a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

PADI Advanced Open Water Minimum age: 12 Duration: 5 dives / 2 days
The Adventures in Diving program offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. If you complete any three adventure dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification. If you complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and three Adventure Dives for a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

After your five dives, you'll be more experienced, feel more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you better understand the underwater environment.

This certification includes five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive and three of the following:

Emergency First Response Minimum age: none Duration: 5 hours

Emergency First Response gives you the tools you need to perform CPR and First Aid. Whether you're a diver or a non-diver, Emergency First Response prepares you to properly handle potentially life-threatening situations.

This comprehensive program is composed of two core modules that can be taught in tandem or as stand-alone courses: Emergency First Response - Primary Care and Emergency First Response - Secondary Care. Together, these courses proved extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid, as well as providing optional (yet recommended) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Emergency Oxygen sections.

PADI Rescue Diver Minimum age: 12 Duration: 5 dives / 3 days
The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover:

  • Self-rescue and diver stress
  • dive first aid
  • emergency management and equipment
  • swimming and non-swimming assists
  • panicked diver response
  • underwater problems
  • missing diver procedures
  • surfacing the unconscious diver
  • in water artificial respiration
  • egress (exits)
  • first aid procedures for pressure related accidents
  • dive accident scenarios

The PADI Rescue Diver certification is a prerequisite for all Professional level PADI courses, beginning with the PADI Divemaster certification.

Prerequisites: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization) + successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months + 20 logged dives.

Take the first step in your dive career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

 

The PADI Divemaster course will allow you to:

  • Work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
  • Assist PADI Instructors with students
  • Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
  • Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
  • Teach PADI Discover Snorkeling programs

  • 60 logged dives (you can start the course with 20 logged dives)

Your 2 course options:

  • Regular divemaster training: This is the fastest way to get your Divemaster certification. This 2 weeks course will give you the necessary tools to make your first step in the diving industry.
  • Internship divemaster training: Here you get to learn the rope of a divemaster job as you work with us. At first, you will look listen and learn from our professional staff and afterward, you will actually become part of the team and be able to work some of your divemaster course fees off. Depending on how much time you have available, the internship can take from 3 weeks to 2 months.

Underwater Navigator Minimum age: 10 Duration: 3 dives / 1 day
When you're underwater, knowing where you are and where you're going comes in handy, especially if you're looking for that beautiful reef that you've heard all about. The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course will help you become a pro at finding your way underwater.

During your PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course, you'll learn underwater navigation dive procedures, techniques, planning, organization and potential problems. You'll also be introduced to natural navigation, underwater patterns, distance estimation and further your compass navigation skills. You'll put these into practice during your three open water dives.

Your Adventures In Diving Navigation Adventure Dive may count toward your Specialty course at instructor discretion. This Specialty also counts toward your Master Scuba Diver certification.

Underwater Photographer Minimum age: 10 Duration: 2 dives / 1 day
The PADI Underwater Photographer Specialty course can help you learn how to take your fist underwater photographs or fine tune your existing skills to produce photographs that will stun your friends.

You'll learn the basics of underwater photography such as composition, film type and camera handling, with special emphasis on practical techniques. You'll learn underwater photography dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also learn how to care for and maintain your camera equipment.

Your Adventures In Diving Underwater Photographer Adventure Dive may count towards this Specialty course at instructor discretion. This Specialty also counts toward one of the five Specialties required for your Master Scuba Diver certification.

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)

Underwater Naturalist Minimum age: 10 Duration: 2 dives / 1 day
If you're interested in aquatic life then the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course is for you. This course is an introduction to the underwater aquatic environment and will help develop safe and responsible aquatic life interaction techniques.

During your PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course, you'll learn underwater naturalist dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also get an overview of the major aquatic life groupings, interactions and factual information that dispels negative myths. You'll put this information into practice during your two open water dives.

Your Adventures In Diving Underwater Naturalist Adventure Dive may count towards your Underwater Naturalist Specialty course at instructor discretion. This Specialty course also counts toward one of the five required Specialties for the Master Scuba Diver rating.

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)

Equipment Specialist Minimum age: 12 Duration: 0 dive / 6 hours
Whether it's a regulator problem, a wet suit tear or a broken mask strap, the Equipment Specialist course can help. This Specialty course prepares you for the basic equipment maintenance, care and adjustments you'll encounter every day. In addition, you'll get the valuable background on equipment repair and purchase, making you better able to protect your investment.

During your PADI Equipment Specialist program, you'll familiarize yourself with the operation and maintenance of your personal equipment. Your instructor might also provide the opportunity to review new or unfamiliar dive equipment.

The program is not an equipment repair program but it does give you:

  • Theory, principles and operation of dive equipment
  • Routine recommended care and maintenance procedures
  • Common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance procedures
  • Simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new equipment

You can count this Specialty certification towards your Master Scuba Diver certification.

Wreck Diver Minimum age: 15 Duration: 4 dives / 2 days
The lure of exploring sunken vessels, airplanes and automobiles is something most divers can't resist. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course introduces you to wreck diving and helps you develop the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and fun wreck diving.

Information contained in your wreck diver program includes:

  • The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving
  • The preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels
  • Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures

Your Adventures In Diving Wreck Adventure Dive may count towards this Specialty certification at instructor discretion. This Specialty certification also counts as one of five Specialty certifications required for your Master Scuba Diver certification.

NOTE: Wreck penetration-training dives are limited to within the light zone and within 40 metres/130 feet from the surface, vertical and horizontal distance included. If the wreck used for training is located in deep water (over 18 metres/60 feet), the Deep Diver rating is recommended as a prerequisite for the Wreck Diver program.

Peak Performance Buoyancy Minimum age: 10 Duration: 2 dives / 1 day
If you want to fine-tune your buoyancy and soar over reefs, extend bottom time by reducing air consumption and prolong the life of your dive equipment, the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course is for you.

During your Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course, you'll use PADI's Basic Weighting Guidelines to determine the correct amount of weight. Then you'll practice the fundamentals of peak performance buoyancy during two open water dives, including the buoyancy check, fine-tuning buoyancy underwater, weight positioning for trim, streamlining and visualization.

Your Adventures In Diving Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive may count towards your Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course at instructor discretion. This Specialty course also counts toward one of the five Specialties required for your Master Scuba Diver certification.
